PCA3 Molecular Profile as an Adjunct in the Diagnosis of Prostate Cancer
Specialty Laboratories is pleased to offer a new test, the PCA3 ProfileR™, which quantifies the level of PCA3 mRNA in prostate cells collected in a urine sample and compares it to the level of PSA mRNA in the same sample to yield a PCA3 score.

#5500: PCA3 ProfileR™

This score is then used to calculate the probability that the next biopsy will be positive for prostate cancer.

This test aids in the diagnosis of prostate cancer in men who either have an elevated serum PSA after a negative prostate biopsy or an elevated serum PSA before their first prostate biopsy. The assay also helps determine the time interval of follow-up biopsy for men who continue to have elevated serum PSA.
