Notes
Reject criteria: Grossly lipemic Test NOT AVAILABLE for residents of New York. Alpha-fetoprotein Fluid results that are less than 2.0 MoM (multiples of the median) are considered to be normal. Fetuses having neural tube defects (NTD) or abdominal wall defects (AWD) generally exhibit higher values. A normal AFAFP result does not conclusively rule out NTD or AWD as closed dysraphic states and small defects may yield normal results. CPT Code: 82106
