Following stimulation by antigen, IL-2R is expressed on all T cells. IL-2R is released by activated cells into the surrounding extracellular fluid. IL2-R is involved in infectious, inflammatory and autoimmune disease, cancer, and transplantation. IL-2R Antibodies are used therapeutically.

IL-2R levels may demonstrate diurnal variation. Recommended
IL-2R levels be determined at the same time of day for
improved longitudinal comparison. No biotin supplements 48 hours
prior to blood draw.
