ALTERNATE

Diagnosis of CMV related infections.

Smear or slide. For whole blood samples: centrifuge either ACD
or Heparin anticoagulated peripheral blood. Collect buffy coat
and smear on two or more slides, Acetone fix, Only smears from
buffy coat will be accepted. Do not submit whole blood or smears
made from whole blood due to low mononuclear cell concentration
on peripheral blood.


Specimen Requirements: Buffy coat smears from ACD or heparinized
whole blood collected 2 slides submitted in slide container.
