The small dense LDL test can be used to determine cardiovascular risk in individuals with metabolic syndrome or established/progressing coronary artery disease, individuals with triglyceride levels between 70 and 140 mg/dL, as well as individuals with a diet high in trans-fat or carbohydrates.

Red-top (Serum Separator Tube)
1. Gently invert 5X (DO NOT SHAKE!).
2. Let blood clot for 30 min. at room temperature.
3. Centrifuge for 10 min.
4. Store and transport refrigerated.

Red-top (no gel)
1. Gently invert 5X (DO NOT SHAKE).
2. Let blood clot 60 min. at room temperature.
3. Centrifuge for 10 min.
4. Aliquot top layer from red top draw tube and place SERUM in
transport tube and dispose of draw tube. Label the transport tube as
No Additive Serum Red. ONLY ship No Additive Serum in transport.
