T and B lymphocyte count and helper/suppressor cell immune status assist in evaluating cellular immunocompetency. `< Immunophenotypic analysis may assist in evaluating cellular immunocompentency in suspected cases of primary and secondary immunodeficiency states.
Maintain the specimen at ambient temperature. Do not refrigerate.
It is recommended that the sample be drawn shortly before courier
pick up and be received within 24 hours.
Whole Blood: Room temperature preferred.
Refrigerated and Frozen unacceptable.
Do not freeze. Do not transfer whole blood to M4. Submit the preferred
EDTA tubes at room temperature. Volumes less than 1 mL should be
submitted in a Pediatric EDTA tube.
