Lactate Dehydrogenase (LD) is an enzyme that is present in many different organs and tissues. LD Isoenzymes (LD1) are useful in distinguishing the different isoenzymes expressed differentially in tissues and organs, e.g., cardiac muscle, skeletal muscle, and liver.
