Avoid worksite collection. Client Supply provides a
specimen collection kit with pre-labeled tubes with additives for
this panel to make it easier to prepare aliquots. If you do not
have the Cadmium Exposure Panel Collection Kit,
follow the directions below.

Specimen 1: Whole Blood:
Collect whole blood in a Royal Blue top trace element-free
tube with EDTA or heparin anticoagulant.
Specimen 2: Urine for Cadmium testing:
Collect urine in an acid-washed plastic container. Transfer
approximately 5 mL into a transfer tube
and add 2 drops of concentrated nitric, acetic or hydrochloric
acid to it.
Specimen 3: Urine for Beta-2-microglobulin:
Transfer approximately 5mL into a
transfer tube, and adjust the pH between 6 and 8 with NaOH
if needed.
Specimen 4: Urine for Creatinine:
Collect urine in an acid washed plastic container. Transfer
approximately 5 mL into a transfer tube.
