Carisoprodol is a muscle relaxant commonly used in the treatment of back pain. It is rapidly and extensively metabolized to meprobamate as such in urine. There is some potential for abuse of carisoprodol. The analysis of meprobamate in urine is utilized to document the compliance with prescribed therapy.

drug transport vial
