Preparation of Isolate:
1. Culture on Sabouraud agar slant (or other appropriate mycological
media) within a glass screw-cap tube. Wrap Parafilm around screw cap
and wrap tube in paper towel to protect the glass tube from breaking
inside the outer container.
2. Place the properly labeled tube into appropriate sized
container. On the outer container affix a label "Etiologic
Agent/Biomedical Material."
3. Ship by overnight courier (following courier
regulations) at ambient temperature.

Acceptable specimen is YEAST only. Mould susceptibility will not be
performed.

The analytical performance characteristics of this test have been determined by Quest Diagnostics Nichols Institute, Valencia, CA. This test should not be used for diagnosis without confirmation by other medically established means.
