Pure cultures sent in appropriate anaerobic media with Parafilm
wrapped around the plate and placed into an anaerobic pouch will be
accepted for identification and/or susceptibility.
If sending anaerobic thio broth, order code 5708. The specimen will
be set up as a culture and isolated anaerobes will be identified.
Send pure culture only and provide identification.
If the isolate submitted is mixed, there
will be no workup performed pending clarification with the client.
This process may delay turn around time.
If sending anaerobic plates with more than one anaerobe, indicate on
the plate which organism needs to be tested.
Ship at ambient temperature by overnight courier to arrive within
24 hours post collection.
