The culture isolates and identifies Group A and Group C Streptococcus, the causative agents of acute bacterial pharyngitis.

1. Source of specimen is required, please include on requisition.
2. Acceptable specimens: Lower pharnyx, tonsil area, uvula
Unacceptable specimens: Frozen, dry swabs, nares
3. Ship specimen at ambient temperature within 24 hours of collection.
