Propafenone is a cardiac drug for treating ventricular arrythmias. Therapeutic drug monitoring is important to optimize dose, to assure compliance, and to avoid toxicity.
Draw sample 2-6 hours post oral dose.
Collect blood in a plain red-top (no gel) tube for serum and a sodium
heparinc(green-top) tube for plasma.
Do not use gel barrier tubes.
