The West Nile virus IgM Capture EIA is for the qualitative detection of IgM antibodies to West Nile virus in serum as an aid to the diagnosis of West Nile virus infection in patients with clinical symptoms consistent with encephalitis. This test should be used in conjuction with the Flavivirus (West Nile virus) IgG assay.
