Specimen Requirements: Pure isolate collected on an agar slant in a double walled container Reject Criteria: Mixed culture; non-viable isolate Transport Temperature: Room temperature Methodology: Matrix Assisted Laser Desorption Ionization-Time of Flight, Phenotypic Susceptibility will be performed at an additional charge (CPT code(s): 87186). Additional identification may be performed at an additional charge (CPT code(s): 87106). DNA Sequencing and Direct Probe are additional identification methods. If the organism cannot be identified by the original method or if there are multiple organisms, either may be performed at an additional charge (CPT code(s): DNA sequencing 87153, Direct Probe 87149).
