ALTERNATE

Anti-MAG, anti-SGPG, anti-GM1, anti-GD1a, and GD1b, anti-asialo GM1, anti-sulfatide, anti-Hu, and IgM GALOP antibodies are found in patients with the acute or subacute onset of limbic encephalitis, brainstem encephalitis, focal cortical encephalitis, myelitis, cerebellar degeneration, opsoclonus/myoclonus, retinopathy, sensory neuropathy, autonomic dysfunction, Stiff Person Syndrome and/or Lambert-Eaton Myasthenic Syndrome. This semi-quantitative assay may be useful in monitoring therapeutic responses in select cases.

Please label each specimen tube with two forms of patient
identification. These forms of identification must also appear on the
requisition form. Serum must be separated from cells within 48
hours of collection.
