Inherited mutations account for approximately 5-10% of all cancers. Breast, ovarian, and uterine cancers, as well as many cancer associated syndromes, including Lynch syndrome, Li Fraumeni syndrome, Fanconi anemia, Cowden syndrome, and familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP) have been linked to alterations in specific genes. Detection of these alterations through Next Generation Sequencing will allow more intensive screening or prophylaxis in patients and their relatives. This panel will cover all coding exons of 27 cancer associated genes, as well as intronic pathogenic variants.

Specimen stability is crucial. Store and ship room temperature
immediately. Do not freeze. Send report of results for
family member with known mutation.
