ALTERNATE

Collect urine with 10 g Boric acid (preferred) or 25 mL of
50% acetic acid or 30 mL of 6N Hcl acid (acceptable). Keep
urine refrigerated during collection.

Mix well and record the total volume on the test request form
and urine container.

Specimen required is 20 mL of 24 hrs urine preserved in 10 g
Boric acid (preferred) or 25 mL of 50% acetic acid or 30 mL
of 6N Hcl acid (acceptable) in a plastic leak-proof urine
container. Minimum volume = 10 mL.
