Results of viral load must be greater than or equal to 500 copies/mL.
Draw blood in 2 EDTA lavender tubes and centrifuge within 1/2 hour of
collection or draw 2 PPT tubes and centrifuge within 1/2 hours of
collection.
Centrifuge at 1000-1200 xg at room temperature for 10-15 minutes.
Separate plasma from cells. When using EDTA tube aliquot into
labeled polyethylene tube directly after centrifuging and before
freezing. If PPT used, okay to centrifuge, DO NOT pour off or aliqout.
For best results, viral loads should be collected either at the same
time, or within two weeks
prior to collection for testing at Monogram.
Samples cannot go through a freeze/thaw cycle. STRICT FROZEN.
