ALTERNATE

Preferred Specimen: 10 mL random liquid stool in a plastic
leak-proof container.

INSTRUCTIONS: Submit frozen sample of liquid feces. Keep
refrigerated during collection. Liquid stool is the only acceptable
specimen for this test. Place 10 mL (3 mL minimum) random liquid
stool in a plastic, leakproof container, freeze, and ship frozen.
10 mL aliquot of 24-hour, 48-hour, or 72-hour liquid stool
specimens are acceptable.

Note: Sample must be shipped frozen to reduce odor during
shipping and to minimize the risk of the container rupturing
due to gas accumulation.
