Detection of Pancreatic Polypeptide is used in the assessment of pancreatic tumor burden and to assist in the early diagnosis of pancreatic tumors. The measurement of pancreatic polypeptide concentrations are also used to monitor pancreatic carcinoma therapy and to predict the recurrence of pancreatic tumors.

Patient Preparation:
Overnight fasting is preferred.
Draw blood in an EDTA (lavender-top tube). Centrifuge and separate
plasma from cells.
